By far your best ever. A message that needs to be reviewed and pondered over. Thanks for the optimism and a fresh look at unity in the face of ubiquitous divisiveness.
That’s the best commentary I’ve seen from you yet.
When I began to become aware of “what could happen” I found it to be depressing, soul crushing and hopeless.
But I’ve worked on looking at the positives, at the up side. Our world will change. Some may see it as for the better, some may see it as for the worse. Or even a mix of the two. But the change will come.
I won’t miss television. I don’t watch it now, actually. I have a full complement of power tools, but now I’m seeking out human powered tools (just like the old days). I do worry about the availability of some things like prescription drugs - the kind that one absolutely can’t do without - but time will tell there, I suppose.
Anyway, it’s nice to see positive outlooks like yours and it’s good that you’re spreading the word. It doesn’t have to be all bad post oil. It will just be…different.
Great message, I feel the same. There will be huge sufferings during the purification and renewal period, but it’s a chance for a new start. I trust many small communities will reach a better, wiser equilibrium, although vast areas could also remain in a neo-feudal dark age for quite a while. People capable of elaborating a short speech like the one in this clip are definitely the future I wanna be a part of, I suppose these will remain a minority, but there are more and more of us. Some of us will manage to get together and form rational communities. After all it’s just a matter of recovering the common sense our grandparents in rural communities always had. Sustainability doesnt need to be invented, we just need to recover the notion that there are limits in the natural world.
Kris,
